Centre Henri Pousseur

Pitch for music centre

Pitch for the graphic identity for a contemporary music- and researchcenter Centre Henri Pousseur in Liège, Belgium.

The center provides cultural discourse and gives open calls to music students and researchers for all over the world. They give perspectives on contemporary experimental electronic music. The graphic identity tends to demonstrate this academic culture. It adapts, extends, is as variable as modern electronics with their ever changing techniques and dephts.

The logo is an idiosyncratic, mutable play of words that adapts to its application, so that the identity can constantly redefine itself without losing clarity.

The variations in movement defines the institute as a dynamic concept. The logo is a clash between modern and classic, as the institutes mindset. The on the one hand scientific font Akkurat is merged with the classic Times New Roman and brought to the same weight, so they can subtly blend to a coherent unity.
